Diego Barrera is a young DJ and producer from Peru but now living in Miami (via Argentina). Deep Dish's Sharam gave him his recording debut in 2018, and since then, he has not looked back, signing tracks with heavy-hitting imprints like Rawsome and Whoyostro. The current political unrest in Peru inspires "Libertad". Pedro Castillo was the first member of the country's rural poor to become president. He is currently in prison, and his supporters, mainly from the impoverished regions outside Lima, have been protesting. There is a widespread belief that the political system is corrupt and broken. We cannot imagine what it could be like to live under those kinds of conditions. But what we can do is support local artists like Barrera and this superb latin groove dedicated to freedom.
