The Dubpunx is a musical project by Romanto, Vernon Da German, John Davis (Bass) and Alleykat (Rap), presenting their new Single “Get With You” on Young Society Records inc. amazing edits and remixes by Jayl Funk, Andy Bach and Romanto. Vernon Da German is Vernon D. Hill, a native Detroiter whose musical background stretches from classical to jazz to hip-hop, RnB, punk, Soul, rock and heavy metal. Hill developed his professional career living for 20 years in Germany, where he toured with his band and other artists along with doing theatrical tours across europe of off broadway musicals and working with the likes of Jenifer Lopez, Angelica Milster, Turbo B from Snap and Chaka Kahn. Since returning to Detroit in 2000, he has recorded with Dwele, Slum Village, Phat Kat, Jay Dilla, Greg Dokes, Miss Jade, Raz Kas and the Platinum Pied Pipers. He also put together his own formation called “Vernon Da German” along with a publishing company for his music”Natasha’s World Publishing” and continues to tour and record as Dweles bandleader. “Smilin´Faces” – with this wonderful track Romanto advanced to one of the favourite Deejays in the dance and club-scene. The song is still a well known club stomper in Germany and UK. You can still find it on reams of compilations. As a DJ Romanto played at famous clubs like E-Werk Berlin, Privilege Ibiza as well as big events like the Loveparade, MTV Air And Style, Tunnel (St. Petersburg/Russia), Rave And Cruise and the Fuck Me I´m Famous Tour. His Funkin´ Elektronical Beats inspired the club people as well as the masses. The biggest hight was surely his support for Jamiroquai´s “Syncronized Tour”. There he won the respect of the English superstar and also a lot of new fans. As a producer Romanto works together with Mario Zerfass under the name of “Romanto & out of the drum”. They were signed by the worldwide famous musiclabel “Kosmo”. There they released their debut album “Agent Style”. Therefore Romanto was supported by famous artists like Mike Marshall (sang for Luniz the Top Ten Hit “I Got 5 On It” and Rumours in the eighties), Keyboarder Vernon D´Zune Hill (played amoung others for Chakka Khan), Mike Antoine (Superglow Experience Band), Rapper MC Smooth and Eddie Greene (sang amoung others for Elton John and Mousse T.). Over this combination a extremely exciting new interpretation of funk, hip hop, soul and electronical music was designed. John Davis is an internationally known singer, bassist and composer with worldwide success. He is one of the real voices of Milli Vanilli, has played and sung with superstars such as Luther Vandross, Babyface (producer of Tony Braxton), Eric Burdon, Robin Beck, Uwe Ochsenknecht, Marianne Rosenberg, Sasha and many others. John Davis had more than 8 hits in the charts - two of them were in the TOP 10. Alex Reginald Belcher aka Alleykat was born in New Jersey, USA. After the end of military service in 1992, he started collaborating with Captain Hollywood, performing during live shows as hypeman and MC. In 1993 he began working as a producer and guest rapper on projects such as Young Internationals. In the summer of 1994 he became rapper for eurodance project Intermission. Single Piece Of My Heart went top 10 in Germany and many European countries, selling roughly 250.000 units. Then pop titan Dieter Bohlen hired him to perform guest rap vocals on his new project Major T - Keep the Frequency Clear which scored top 60 in in Scandinavian charts. In 1997, he teamed with Lori Glori and DJ M.A.R.S.S on Intermission's single Blow Your Mind. He produced and arranger eX-Rated's Move That Pussy. Then he collaborated with Captain Hollywood on his album Afterparty.
