HAWKINS is a brand new record label from London born producer Made By Pete, an artist who can count mavens of the electronic music scene like Damian Lazarus, Sasha and Kolsch as fans of his sound. Following on from a string of successful releases on influential imprints like Crosstown Rebels, Saved and Rebirth, the lockdown of 2020 was the perfect breeding ground for a concept that had been bubbling away for many years. For now, HAWKINS exists as platform for Made By Pete to release his own material as he explores the boundaries between organic and electronic music. For the first release, Made By Pete teams up with Jinadu on ‘Fear The Fall’. The pair’s previous collaboration ‘Beautiful Silence’ was released on Selador Records in 2020, ending up as one of the top 100 best selling tracks of the year in Beatport’s afro house genre. Jinadu has since been busy working on music with Black Coffee for his forthcoming album ‘Subconsciously’ as well as featuring on two tracks with Jody Wisternoff on his 2020 ‘Nightwhisper’ album on Anjunadeep. Amongst the mayhem of a global pandemic and between lockdowns, James and Simon found the time to get together for two sessions in the summer of 2020 to write and record ‘Fear The Fall’. The track features stunning keys and vocals from Jinadu, which blend effortlessly with Made By Pete’s trademark organic, percussive grooves and modulating synth lines. On remix duties we welcome the formidable Just Her as she steps up to stamp her mark on the lead track ‘Fear The Fall’. The Brighton based producer, blogger and label owner has been writing, producing and singing on ground breaking electronic music for many years and 2021 will be no different as she prepares for releases with Last Night On Earth and Anjunadeep.
