Since 2017, Veeshy has graced our imprint with exactly one new release each year, including the especially memorable "Stimulate The Stars," a 4-track offering. The gifted Australian composer continues the streak with "Let Me Down," an exceedingly lush, synthwave-inspired affair. Canadian singer-songwriter Brandon Mignacca, whose extraordinary contributions to Silk Music in recent years include collaborations with Sound Quelle and Vintage and Morelli, now teams up with Veeshy for the first time; the duo's musical chemistry is truly remarkable.

Kicking off with a rapturous array of arpeggios -- a Veeshy signature -- and a retro groove, "Let Me Down" immediately hurls the listener into a nostalgic longing for the innocence and wonder of our youth, as we come into age. Meanwhile, Brandon Mignacca weaves an evocative tale of a romance that has led to a startling revelation: self-love is the first step to heal a broken heart. His gripping lyrics and mesmerizing vocal performance prove to be almost overwhelmingly moving. As Mignacca's vocals soar in a series of memorable refrains, Veeshy matches his emotional intensity with a constellation of entrancing melodic layers. An instrumental sequence closes out this exceptional contribution to the burgeoning synthwave genre.

To close out the "Let Me Down" release, Veeshy has provided an instrumental mix, an ornate musical tapestry in its own right, even without Brandon Mignacca's unforgettable vocal soaring above. With this version, the listener is prompted to escape into Veeshy's unique aural stylings, which evoke a state of sentimental bliss.
