LUXXURY's latest EP, the Be Good 2 Me EP, kicks off with the title track - a muscular, bass guitar-powered take on what happens when disco goes rock 'n' roll. 'Pleasure!' (8.0, DJ Magazine) pulls piano house, Beca Dream's silky coo, and a flute solo into its carnal grasp. 'I Need You' (8.5, DJ Magazine) is an honest-to-god love song featuring funked-up bass from Fitz' and the Tantrums' Joe Karnes and the shimmering Rhodes of Luxxury regular Billy Caruso. 'Feel the Night' (as featured on Hedkandi Beach House, Poolside Ibiza etc) is a rubbery dancefloor destroyer just begging for falsetto sing-along. With a rawer sound and lyrics pulled from the real life of an unapologetic disco fiend, LUXXURY's Blake Robin is kicking out the most authentic bangers of his life.

'Be Good 2 Me' was inspired by that 1979 moment where rock bands like Kiss, The Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart all made their token 'disco song.' I was also inspired by the melodic punk basslines of The Clash's 'The Magnificent Seven' and Hot Chocolate's 'Every 1's A Winner', with its funk stomp and heroic electric guitar line. I love the intersection of disco, funk, rock and pop, all with a dash of post-punk 'we can barely play our instruments' attitude. But rather than Autotuning and Pro Tooling everything to perfection I like to leave a lot of rough edges intact, but with modern production to give it and updated dancefloor thump.
